What is ShortStayRome? is an accommodation booking website offered by Short Stay Rome Srl. and FG Hospitality Group bv. We offer pre-visited, professionally managed, high quality, fully furnished and equipped self-catering apartments for short stays in Rome’s most popular areas.

How do I find the most suitable apartment for my stay?

Each apartment has its own specific combination of location and layout and has a maximum number of people it can cater for. Consider the size of your group and personal preferences for style and area. Then scroll down the summaries on the apartment page to see what fits your needs. Browse, book and feel good! If you require any additional information please feel free to contact customer support.

How do I make a booking?

Having found your apartment, click on the ‘Book now’ button and proceed to our secure booking and payment pages. The first is for your booking, personal and payment details. After acceptance of the terms and conditions of the apartment provider, you can then check and confirm your booking at the second page. After making a successful online prepayment by creditcard, a booking confirmation and the terms and conditions of the apartment provider will be sent by e-mail.

Do I pay anything?

No, does not charge the customer for its service.

How do I pay for the booking I made at

During the booking process you make a prepayment with your credit card. This guarantees your booking. The prepayment amount is a percentage of the total costs as down payment on behalf of Short Stay Rome. The balance due can then be paid prior to or on arrival in Rome.

Is it possible to pay the balance before arriving in Rome?

Yes. You can contact Short Stay Rome to clear your balance before arriving in Rome. End clean, city tax and the damage deposit always need to be paid on arrival

What kind of credit cards are accepted? accepts Visa, MasterCard and Amex. It is also possible to pay per bank or paypal after contacting our customer service team.

Can I pay via PayPal or banktransfer?

Please contact our customer service if you require to pay via PayPal or banktransfer. We are able to block the apartment for a short period of time awaiting the payment confirmation of the alternative payment method.

What does do with my credit card details?

Credit card details are not provided to us. charges via, no sensitive data is stored on our servers.

Is a damage deposit required?

Yes. In most cases our apartment providers offer the following options:

  1. The apartment provider will place a reservation of a certain amount on a guest’s credit card at check-in (the exact amount can be found in the terms and conditions of the apartment provider). The reservation will be released on the conditions that you have left the apartment in a good condition, returned the keys and no disturbance has occurred.
  2. The apartment provider will require a cash deposit of a certain amount (the exact amount can be found in the terms and conditions of the apartment provider). The cash deposit will be refunded after check-out on the conditions that you have left the apartment in a good condition, returned the keys and no disturbance has occurred.

Is it possible to pay the rental balance and damage deposit in cash rather than with a credit card?

Short Stay Rome accepts cash and credit card payments.

Where can I find the terms and conditions of the apartment provider?

Having selected your apartment of choice, the terms and conditions appear as a deeplink ‘Terms and Conditions’ at the bottom of the apartment information page (section terms and conditions; below the availability and prices overview). During your booking process, the terms and conditions also appear at the bottom of the booking details page (section 3; payment details). It is required to accept these terms and conditions to proceed with your booking.

How do I alter an existing booking?

You can alter your booking by contacting customer support. They will try to accommodate any possible changes, although this will depend on availability.

How do I cancel an existing reservation?

You can cancel your booking by contacting us. In every case the online prepayment is non-refundable. Extra cancellation fees can apply depending on the period of notice for cancellation given and the terms and conditions specified by the apartment provider regarding cancellation policy and fees. In each case we will assist you through this process without any additional fees.

What will happen if I do not use the apartment and fail to cancel the booking?

This is a “no show”. The full balance will be charged.

What extra services can Short Stay Rome offer?

Short Stay Rome can offer the following additional services (add-ons): car service from and to the airport. This is bookable via the website. Private or small group tours, private cook (availability on request). For more info please contact our customer service.

How do I check in?

Short Stay Rome offers a free personal check in from 14.00 until 21.00, but only by appointment. Between 21.00 and 00.00 (midnight) there is a check in fee of euro 40,-. After midnight check in is only possible after having consulted Short Stay Rome and the check in fee is Euro 60,-.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Normal check-in time is from 14.00 till 21.00, for early or late check-ins surcharges will apply, which are stated in the terms and conditions of the apartment provider. Normal check-out time is at 10.00 AM.

Late check out is only possible after having consulted with our customer service or directly with our operations manager that will check you in. For a late check out until 16.00 Short Stay Rome charges 30% of the nightly rate with a minimum of euro 50,-.

Is the rate per person or per apartment?

For the larger apartments rates can vary based on the number of guests.

Are there any other additional charges or taxes involved?

All our prices are including VAT and excluding Tourist Tax (if applicable). Additional charges depend on any extra services you book, such as an early check-in or late check-out. A refundable security deposit applies as well.

Is breakfast included in the rate?

Breakfast is not included and at the moment unavailable. All apartments are self-catering.

Are there any child fees?

There are no fees for children under 2 years old, but they are considered and counted as adults if above 2 years old, unless a baby cot is required. A baby cot has a one time fee of Euro 40,- valid for your entire stay. In no circumstance the apartment can host more people than what it is published by.

Are baby beds or cots available?

Does ShortStayRome have minimum age requirements?

Yes. At least one person in your party must be 18 or over.

Is parking included in the price?

No. Parking is not included in the price. We strongly recommend not to come to the center of Rome by car. The center is blocked for all cars without a permit. If you do come by car it is wise to park outside the city center in a garage and get to the apartment by public transport. Are parties in the apartment or on the terrace allowed?

No, under no circumstance parties are allowed. All our apartments are part of so called ‘condominio’ and we have to respect the house rules. No additional people can be invited into the apartment or on the terrace. If the apartment has a balcony or terrace it is imperative that there can be no noise after 22.00. Short Stay Rome has the right to withhold the security deposit if the house rules are breached.
